Kinako’s world is still a little smaller than most dogs’ and that’s where she feels safest.

At 10 months old, Kinako is more homebody than adventurer. The outside world can feel big and a little scary, and busy walks aren’t really her idea of fun. She’d be happiest in a simple, quieter home where she can take things at her own pace.

Kinako may not rush up to someone she has just met. She needs a little time to decide you’re safe, and that’s okay. Trust is something we build, one small moment at a time.

Once you’re part of her world, though, you’ll see another side of her: a joyful greeting, a wagging tail, and the kind of happiness that says, “I missed you, even if you were only gone for a little while.”

Kinako’s fosterer can no longer foster her after October, so we urgently need to find her a loving home. She isn’t asking for a grand adventure. She’s hoping for someone who understands that feeling safe is its own kind of happiness.
