Meet Jackie, a lone stray, injured and lying helplessly on the street of Chennai, India, caught the attention of our fosterer and she couldn’t bear to leave him alone to die. She did what anyone with a heart would do – called for help and found him a place to rest. She later found out that he belonged to a family who abandoned him when they moved out of Chennai.

Taking him out of the street is only the first step. Even after nursing him back to health, Sushma is afraid that this very sweet boy cannot survive on his own if he has to go back to the harsh life of being a stray again.

We have heard of too many horror stories involving strays in other parts of the world. Perhaps fate brought Sushma and this little one together. And if we could just extend our help, maybe this boy’s destiny can change for the better.
