Some dogs walk into a new home with confidence.
Sparky is not one of them.

When Sparky, a 8-year-old Japanese Spitz, enters an unfamiliar environment, the world can feel too big, too strange, and too overwhelming for him. His anxiety shows in ways that may be difficult for some people to understand. He may hump humans. He may mark in the house. He may seem unsettled, unsure of where he belongs.

But that is not the whole story of Sparky.

That is only the first chapter.
Because once the noise in his mind begins to quiet down, and once he realises that he is safe, a very different Sparky begins to appear.

This is the Sparky who brings you his toy, hoping you will play with him.

This is the Sparky who chooses to stay close, not because he is demanding, but because being near his humans makes him feel secure.

This is the Sparky who, beneath all that initial anxiety, is really just a sweet, trusting boy looking for someone steady to anchor him.

Sparky does not need a busy home filled with constant change. He does not need people who expect him to be perfect from the first day.
He needs someone who understands that some dogs need time before they can show you who they truly are.

He needs a family who can look past the anxious behaviours and recognise them for what they are: signs of stress, not signs of a bad dog.

Ideally, Sparky’s future home should have someone around most of the time, especially during his settling-in period. A calm, patient household would give him the best chance to feel safe, adjust at his own pace, and slowly become the loving companion he is capable of being.

He may not be the easiest dog to transition into a new home, but for the right person, he could be deeply rewarding.
Because Sparky is not looking for just any home.
He is looking for the kind of home that understands that love sometimes begins with patience.

If you are keen to give Sparky a chance, please contact us. Somewhere behind the anxiety is a very sweet boy waiting to come home.
