Hua Hua was misunderstood — unfairly labeled as aggressive after nipping a few passerbys over the years, only because she felt unsafe in an industrial environment.
Fast forward to today — over twelve volunteers have walked her, and here’s the real Hua Hua:
Right now, Hua Hua is still caged in a heavily industrial area — far from the warmth and love she’s learned to give. She’s shown us who she really is: gentle, funny, and full of heart.
Imagine your entire view of the world is limited to a 1.2 meter window.
How can we justify such actions? How can we accept a sentence with no hope of reprieve, where the simple joys of freedom – to walk, to smell, to see the world are forever denied till you draw your final breath.
For years, Hua Hua has been locked away like this.
Hua Hua is not a dangerous dog. A group of us started walking her two weeks ago. Despite reports of nipping, we saw a fearful dog with lifeless eyes, initially avoiding us by retreating to the far end of the cage – perhaps trying to suppress her fear to avoid reacting. Over time, she transformed into a visibly relaxed dog, pleading with soft eyes, asking to be walked. Her desperate pawing at the door shows just how much she needs her walks.
A few of us travel 1 to 1.5 hours daily, looking forward to bringing a smile and sparkle back to Hua Hua’s eyes and face.
Hua Hua is a gentle soul who doesn’t ask for much – just regular walks and a safe, loving home where she can finally feel secure. Is there anyone out there willing to give her the gift of kindness?
Could you give Hua Hua a home so her smile never fades when she’s led back to the cage?
