Michael Peevey, a native of the UK, is a long-time resident of Singapore having lived here, with this family, for twenty years. He works in the technology industry as an in-house legal counsel specialising in intellectual property. A lifelong animal lover, he has at various times had horses, rabbits, cats, hamsters, and dogs. It was his experience adopting Basil that lead to his interest in the Animal Welfare Groups in Singapore, and in particular Chained Dog Awareness where he has acted as a volunteer. His particular interest is in the ways that dogs can be given the freedom to express the sorts of normal behaviour patterns that has been bred into them.
